Intro/Disclaimer.
“people don’t want to learn how to do one thing. They’ll take a little bit of Buddhism, a little bit of veganism, a little bit of astrology… They’re coming into the marketplace hungry for direction, but they don’t want some person who claims to have all the answers. They want suggestions, not formulas.”
- Barrie Dolnick
“One Way To Go” is about building confidence, the first step to social success.
Your confidence will spark energy that creates attraction and, ultimately, success. Your growing practical knowledge will become the foundation of your confidence: we’re here to give you ideas to create your unique way in life. The “One Way To Go” project is fueled by Christian (Energy) and Matthias (The Bright Side), who share a passion for self-improvement and personal growth. They integrate knowledge from psychology, philosophy, spirituality, natural and human sciences and everyday experience and provide advice about health, happiness, success, love, personality, inner strength.
Disclaimer.
THIS IS NOT THE ULTIMATE TRUTH.
We all are human beings and as such, we can never be perfect. We’re weak, vulnerable, mistaken, flawed. Our lives are far from static and uniform, and consequently, any attempt at a universal, clear-cut method of mastering them must be inherently flawed. We cannot “fix” your life, and it’s not the goal of this service. This is practical advice for everyday application, but please do not mistake it for professional psychological help.
We realize one thing: you’ve come here looking for help because you feel imbalanced, misaligned, socially unfortunate. We recognize those feelings because we’ve been there. Outsiders, lost upon love, awkward, inept. We found ways to get better, ways that we know can work. We want to share them to help you, and we hope you’ll profit from our insights. Just keep this in mind: it’s never black or white, good or bad, smart or dumb, love or hate, right or wrong. We break our material down into tangible chunks, but you still need to take the whole spectrum of your experience into account when you practice what we present.
“The Bright Side”: Matthias
Born in 1980, journalist Matthias grew up in the Frankfurt area in Germany. He studied German and English, focusing on culture and media, wrote and published his master’s on German post-war theatre, and worked as a journalist for eight years during and after his studies. In 2008, he moved to Montreal, Canada, where he deepened his acting and technical experience in theatre, film and photography. Today, he proofreads video game translations and writes for the Art of Seduction magazine.
Matthias has been passionate about self-help and personal growth for the longest time of his life, having his first major turning point in the late 1990s, when he read “Emotional Intelligence” and subsequently “Working with Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman. Many books on self-improvement followed, touching manners, sex (Alex Comfort’s “Joy of Sex”) and savoir-vivre, paired with a subscription to “Psychologie Heute”, the German “Psychology Today” magazine. Lately, he has been exploring spirituality (The Law of Attraction, The Power of Now) and NLP as well as the dating/pick-up scene revolving around Neil Strauss’ “The Game” and David DeAngelo’s “Double Your Dating”.
“Energy”: Christian
Born in 1987 in Århus, Denmark, psychology student Christian experienced an alternative kind of education that focused on children’s artistic development, which incited him to take several art workshops in Classical figure drawing. In 2005, he moved to Houston, Texas to take art classes at the Glasses school of arts.
There’s one thing that was always missing in Christian’s life, and it was self-confidence. In his early teenage years, he got separated from his mother and put into a foster family. During those same years, his “friends” influenced him negatively by telling him about his inadequacies and making fun of him.
In 2006, after returning from Houston, Christian realised how uncomfortable he felt in his own skin in public due to his poor self-image. In the same summer, he discovered “The Game” by Neil Strauss: a book about how to meet women. It gave him the hope and realisation that he could change. Seduction and the idea of being someone special motivated him to do so until 2007: after reading books on deeper psychology like “Meeting the shadow” (Connie Zweig, Jeremiah Abrams, eds.), and spiritual books such as “The power now” (Eckhart Tolle), he changed his focus from women and got deeply involved in understanding the human mind, Yogic practice and Health.
Today, he is heading to University in Århus, Denmark where he wants to study Psychology followed by Yoga.
Both Matthias and Christian are totally speaking of themselves in the third person.
